REACH

REACH! Afterschool and Summer Program provides afterschool and summer programs for the students of Craftsbury, Hardwick and Wolcott. Our mission is to expand participants' horizons through engaging activities focused on academic improvement, cultural opportunities and community health and well-being.

What we stand for:
R       Recreation: Plant the seed for enjoyable life-long physical activity.
E       Enrichment: Expand a child's horizon; connect the world around us.
A       Academics: Support and reinforce the learning from the classroom.
C       Culture: Explore diversity through drama, visual arts and music.
H      Health: Relate our choices to our well-being

REACH! is funded through a 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant from the VT Agency of Education. We are also supported by local school budgets, many community partners and participant fees.

Craftsbury programs are open to youth inKindergarten through 8th grade, while Hardwick and Wolcott are both open to youth in Kindergarten to 6th grade. Any youth who resides in these towns may attend REACH!, even if they attend another school or are homeschooled.

Afterschool programs typically begin the first full week of school, and are held most days that school is in session, with the exception of half days. Programs are scheduled to end the Friday before Memorial Day, but may extend closer to the end of school depending on the number of snow days, and other factors. Enrichment programs include recreation, arts/music, literacy, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), and culture studies.

Summer Programs:
Craftsbury and Wolcott join forces in the summer to offer a four week summer program filled with field trips (a camp favorite is Lake Eden Recreation Area), small group tutoring, themed enrichment and recreation. During our Hardwick summer programs we partner with Hardwick Recreation Committee, NEK Kids on the Move, and the school to provide five weeks of summer programs. We offer swimming lessons, enrichment, tutoring, sports/adventure camps, and much more!
